Privacy Policy.
How Helia Therapy collects, uses and protects your personal information. Last updated 23 October 2026.
Who we are
Helia Therapy is run by Jue Snell, a sole trader trading as Helia Therapy, 1 Loxlay Close, Wincham, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 6GQ, United Kingdom. Jue Snell is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about your privacy, email info@heliatherapy.co.uk.
We understand that contacting a therapist is personal. We collect only the information we need, keep it confidential and never sell it.
What this website does not do
This website is only used to make enquiries and book sessions. Therapy sessions take place separately by video call on Zoom, never on this website, and no session notes, recordings or details of what is discussed in sessions are ever stored on or sent through this website.
Information we collect and why
When you contact us. If you use our contact form or email us, we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, the topic you choose and your message. We use this only to reply to you and to arrange support if you want it. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. Please only share what you are comfortable with. If your message includes information about your health or wellbeing, we treat it as special category data and process it with your explicit consent, which you give when you choose to send it to us.
When you book and pay for sessions. At checkout we collect your email address and your billing name and address, plus the service and number of sessions you choose. We do not ship anything, so we never ask for a delivery address. Your billing address is used by our payment provider to verify your payment and help prevent fraud. We use this information to process your booking, take payment, send your confirmation and keep the financial records the law requires. Our lawful basis is performing our contract with you, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records. The service you book may suggest something about your wellbeing. We process this only to provide your therapy, under the condition for health or social care services provided by a professional bound by a duty of confidentiality (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(h) and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Payment details. Card payments are handled directly by Stripe, and PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments by those providers. We never see or store your full card details.
When you browse the website. With your consent, Google Analytics collects information about how the website is used, such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser. We use this only to improve the website. We also keep a record of your cookie choices. Read our Cookie Policy for full details.
Marketing
We do not use your information for marketing, and we do not sell or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Who we share your information with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run the website and our business, and only as much as they need. They may only use it on our instructions.
- Webflow: hosts this website and stores contact form submissions and orders.
- Google: email (Google Workspace) and website analytics (Google Analytics, only with your consent).
- Stripe and PayPal: process payments securely.
- Consent Pro (Finsweet): manages and records your cookie choices.
- Website hosting and delivery services: such as content delivery networks that help the website load quickly and securely.
We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with HMRC for tax purposes. As with all therapy, if we believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, we may need to share information with the appropriate services, and where possible we will talk to you first.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Webflow, Google, Stripe and PayPal, may store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK-US Data Bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement and Addendum.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries that do not lead to booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Orders and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by HMRC.
- Analytics data: kept in line with our Google Analytics retention settings, for no longer than 14 months.
- Cookie choices: 120 days, after which we ask you again.
How we keep your information safe
This website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection. We limit access to your information to Jue Snell and use secure, password-protected accounts with our service providers.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it
- ask for your information in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, including for cookies and for any health information you have shared with us
To use any of these rights, email info@heliatherapy.co.uk. We will reply within one month. There is no charge. Some records, such as those we must keep for tax, may need to be kept even if you ask us to delete them.
Age
Our services are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
